Kris Dillon-Weathers

The Prairie Midwife

Fort Morgan, Colorado

What a difference >>My first two children were born at the hospital, and it was not an experience I was looking forward to repeating with my third, which is what led us to Kris. My prenatal visits were relaxing - I didn't feel like I was "Uterus #63" in the revolving door of a standard office visit, I was able to voice concerns, talk about our excitement, and include my two older children in the process. The actual homebirth was an amazing experience from start to finish, Kris helped maintain a very calm environment and provided support and coaching for my husband and I through the process. I felt in control of my labor and natural pain management. Recovery has been a breeze as well, and I attribute this partially to the low-stress labor and delivery experience. We absolutely plan to use Kris for the next baby, too!

Shifting Attitudes >>Kris and her team was amazing. My husband wasn't so sure about not being at a hospital. But their continual care and attention to detail quickly calmed his nerves.

Focus on Mother and Child >>We had our most recent two births with Kris and are so very grateful we found her... she was the second midwife we interviewed and we loved her immediately - she's got an incredible energy and she's absolutIy a gift to have as a midwife. I'm so grateful she has been in our lives the last 4 years - if we have more children we will definitely hire her again. She is so patient, calm, and skilled - she respects the birth process and more than anything the mama and the parents. INCREDIBLE support for me and my husband... absolutely incredible home births. I could go on and on.... I truly truly love how home birth is so focused on the mama and the baby - its amazing. I could just go on and on about our incredible birth experiences with Kris. You will be so glad you chose her.

A Family Event >>I thought we worked well together. I enjoyed the sharing with each other and the relaxed feeling of each appointment. (My favorite part of the birth was) seeing my teen daughters so engaged this time - made my heart happy.
